Canvas Tote Bag

A flat-bottomed tote cut from undyed natural cotton canvas, with a wildflower design embroidered directly into the lower front panel. The flowers are stitched in coloured thread — poppy red, violet, cornflower blue, yellow and green — not screen-printed, so the design has real texture and will not crack or peel in the wash the way a print does.

The canvas is a mid-weight cotton left in its natural ecru shade, with the flecks and slubs of an undyed cloth still visible. Twin handles are cut from the same canvas and stitched down the full depth of the bag front and back rather than tacked at the top, which spreads the load instead of concentrating it where handles usually tear away.

It measures roughly 14 by 16 inches with a flat base, which takes a laptop, a folder, a market shop or a change of clothes. Made for daily carrying — groceries, books, the commute, the beach. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang dry; the embroidery is colourfast.
