Leather Belt

A belt cut from a single strip of full-grain cowhide in a warm tan, with the grain left intact rather than sanded flat and coated. Full-grain is the outermost and strongest layer of the hide, and it is the only kind that develops a real patina — darkening along the fold where it takes the buckle, warming where a hand touches it.

Cream topstitching runs the full length along both edges, which is structural as much as decorative: it locks the edge of the strip and stops it curling as the leather flexes over years. The buckle is a double-prong roller in an antique silver finish, which spreads the load across two holes instead of one and will not pull a single hole oval over time. The keeper loop is a folded strip of the same leather, stitched and set with a matching rivet.

For jeans, chinos, or anything with a belt loop under 1.5 inches. To size it, order your trouser waist and the centre hole will land right. Wipe it with a damp cloth and feed it with leather balm twice a year; keep it out of prolonged wet.
